I would have loved to watch this on the original broadway, but cynically, what is original these days anyway? So I am catching this on our Singapore version of Broadway this coming Tuesday 4th May. Tuesday is going to be the best day of the week!

Would it be too over the top if i showed up at work in a Chicago-inspired outfit?

Herย works are equivalent to wearing art on myself.

these earrings remain my favourite pair in my collection till today:

from her collection Anatomy of F

i have my eye on this second pair. I always favoured her earrings over all else.

between going to work, staying at home and sleeping, thats how my 24 hrs per day has been used for the last few weeks. no idea how people find the energy to go out, meet people and socialize. i can barely have enough to get out of bed and go to work, and last the day.

anyone, on a positive note, to reward myself for not spending money this month on random items, i bought this one random thing off etsy ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am usually attracted to blogs with great photographs because I believe pictures say a thousand words. Words are excessive at times – but that doesn’t stop me from being excessive with them ๐Ÿ˜‰ so long as the consequences are not fatal.

From Hong Kong with Love: like a Little Journey with the owner as she discovers wonders of a place

Pour Porter: great for clothes inspiration. I like the huge self-tied belt with no particular focal point.

The Selby: personal spaces, people on their best (not necessarily correct) forms. Truly inspirational

Lines and shapes: Lines and Shapes CONNECT US. Not so much of on-blog photos but the books that are sold are a great collection of photographs with various themes. Talk about Feast (for the eye). I am tempted to buy a few.

Some Girls Wander By: She is whimsical. enough said.

sometimes when i write my blog, I seem to swing from one end of the mood spectrum to another. and i hope i don’t come across as schzophrenicย –ย  who talks saving the world (through design) on one post, shoes + clothes on another (consumerism that kills!) and random art on another! but thats probably me. love to be all grubby and dirty in the forest on a trek but cannot give up my pretty dresses and heels ๐Ÿ˜‰

and i am probably going to break my resolution to not purchase random things for a while

i was picking books randomly out of my shelves when i came across Howl’s Moving Castle by Diane Wynne Jones. I bought this book in Melbourne after I caught the movie at Nova Art Cinema. I remember putting an order at Readings for the book and was elated when it finally arrived.

i like the show because it reveals the ideals of hope, freedom and the wonders of human touch and kindness. thats probably why i enjoy movies seemingly packaged for the younger demographics – it possesses the innocence and fascination not found in other genres of show and makes the world look a little better.

i think everyone should watch shows with happy endings.

today was one of the rare days (in my entire -almost- two years of working) that I went to hang out and i think i like relaxing after work. even though i feel guilty! timbre at art house is quite nice to chill out on a weekday night. the crowd is small. the band is great. i like bands which have members in their late 20s cos we grew up listening to the same songs.

i think i could get used to not doing work after work ๐Ÿ˜‰
anyway the schedule is packed this week. Photography classes with jiam on Tuesday. golf on Wednesday with bay. and yoga on saturday. trying to squeeze in another day for yoga but we will have to see on that. i like having a life outside work ๐Ÿ˜‰ and so far i am not back-logging work. YET.

when i traveled europe for 2 weeks as a penniless student, i stayed in budget hostels. and still, for 20 euros a night!ย shared toilets, own towels (leading to massive baggages) and sometimes unclean sheets. it was a fun experience when money is little and the traveling time is long. now, when i travel (usually not more than a week), there is no way (absolutely) anyone could convince me to share a hostel room (unless absolutely no choice like Japan when everything else will bleed the pocket) nor make me put up with grubby rooms.

so in Chiangmai, i will be staying at 3sis bed and breakfastย – i think its nice to pay less than 20 euros for the room and have it at a much higher standard!

i am looking forward to wearing shorts everyday, and not dealing with emails, work and the friendly laptop. its liberating to read what i like to read everyday, take pictures and of course, be in a place where i cannot speak the language ๐Ÿ˜‰

everyone knows which is my favourite brooch. i love it to bits and wear it as often as i could. it was love at first sight. and i hunted it down at Douglas and Hope / Melbourne and bought it the instant i spotted it.

and very unfortunately i lost it. it fell off the pin at the back, and now what is left is the silly pin, sans brooch. its too traumatising. and after ploughing through the internet, i finally located it again at Poketo! i know what is lost shouldn’t be replaced but what am i to do? live without the pin?

another $55 on the same brooch! this is instant madness. i could give up my entire brooch collection but not this one + the penny farthing bike + the theBlackApple pins. anyone knows i have a large pin collection. i guess my love for brooches is how most ladies love diamonds ๐Ÿ˜‰
