I would have loved to watch this on the original broadway, but cynically, what is original these days anyway? So I am catching this on our Singapore version of Broadway this coming Tuesday 4th May. Tuesday is going to be the best day of the week!

Would it be too over the top if i showed up at work in a Chicago-inspired outfit?

When God Ran November 26, 2009

Almighty God,
The Great I Am,
Immovable Rock,
Omnipotent,
Powerful,
Awesome Lord,
Victorious Warrior,
Commanding Kind Of Kings,
Mighty Conqueror

And the only time,
The only time I ever saw Him run
Was when He ran to me,
took me in His arms
Held my head to his chest,
said my son’s come home again
Lifted my face,
wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice
He said son,
do you know I still love you?
It caught me by surprise,
When God ran

The day I left home,
I knew I had broken His heart
I wondered then
if things could ever be the same

Then one night,
I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road
ahead I could see

It’s the only time,
The only time I ever saw Him run
When He ran to me,
Took me in his arms
Held my head to his chest,
Said my son’s come home again,
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in his voice,
He said son,
Do you know I still love you?
It caught me by surprise,
It brought me to my knees
When God ran

I saw Him run to me

And then I ran to Him

Holy One
Righteous Judge
He turned my way
Now I know
He’s been waiting for this day

And then He ran to me,
Took me in his arms
Held my head to Hs chest,
Said my son’s come home again,
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes,
With forgiveness in his voice,
I felt His love for me again

He ran to me
Took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest,
Said my son’s come home again,
Lifted my face,
Wiped the tears from my eyes,
With forgiveness in his voice,
He said son,
He said son,
My son,
Do you know I still love you
Oh!
He ran to me
When God ran

Hopenhagen (Copenhagen 15) will gather world leaders for the UN Climate Change Conference on December 7th 2009. It symoblises a movement, a moment and a chance at a new beginning. To improve the environment, global measures must be taken; however as lofty policies get discussed, sometimes I wonder if these are discussed with in-depth knowledge of real problems and situations.

To follow the Hopenhagen movement leading up to the conference, keep watching this space. or follow it on Twitter like everyone else, which provide great links to other environmental happenings around the world.

Singapore to have a Natural History Museum? Why not? The Raffles Museum has a good collection of specimens, and with some of our prized artifacts linguishing in the depths of a storage house, it is time for them to see the light of the day and let Singaporeans enjoy the biological history of Singapore.

We gave this whale skeleton away to KL in 1972 when NMS changed focus. We are shortsighted, no?

With less than 1% of the zoological Reference Collection on display, i think we will have a great collection 😉

i always have a certain amount of fondness of mini street art installations and from time to time, i will drop by Little People for a peek. the trend seems to be for days that I am tired and feeling a little too tiny for my liking.

i am slightly more inclined towards outfits i could wear for work

and probably last a little longer.

another dress i quite liked but didn’t think it was my style is this:

i think it is too feminine – and i would die of saccarine

i honestly have had it with people not taking my word seriously and having to re-verify it with someone else more ‘senior’  IN MY PRESENCE. it is as if people are trying to test the credibility of my word. is it questionable?

i am not dumb. and i don’t make stupid comments that warrants a skeptical -raise your eyebrow- look. if consultants defer to someone more ‘senior’  who said the EXACT same thing i said, i don’t see why when i make the same comment earlier, people chuckle. i am not telling a joke and i certainly am not intending to make people laugh. i think its plain rude when people chuckle at my comments but agree TOTALLY with someone more senior when the same comment is being passed later.

just because i look 16 does not mean i am stupid. nor does it mean i have no idea what is going on in a project.

society may seem so progressive but at the end of the day, people are still bounded by primitive prejudices that reveal the only thing that progressed is their paycheck and standard of living but not the mindset.

Scent of a woman February 20, 2009

Inspired by Ms WalnutsFriedRice I feel compelled to contribute a post on perfumes. I for one, find women who wear perfume particularly alluring. It simply just adds a certain air of elegance. Especially those who place great care in the selection of their fragrances.

I for one will look at a woman twice upon catching the lingering traces of her perfume. Such occurrences, I assure you, are not common. But i do believe in the role scent plays in attraction. The subtleties that arises in your mind.

Although I have told no one but I am particularly fond of a few select perfume. Should the ladies suddenly find themselves the unwillingly subject of my unfaltering attention, fear not. It’s a compliment to your tasteful choice in perfumes =)

(P.S. Those who have yet to see Al Pacino in Scent of a woman, it’s an old classic worth digging to find.)

the importance of being rich February 17, 2009

this week, i awarded the following title to someone I work with:

<Most inflated sense of self-importance>

i wish the person knew that money does not make the world go round. Intelligence can and will make the money work  – but clearly money can never buy some of the most important things in life – quality of character and common sense.

[I wonder which is worse: Not being able to buy quality of character and common sense with my money or with my parents’ money. If money is that all powerful, isn’t it more exasperating knowing that even with money that is given without having to work for it, you still cannot make it work for you?]

in fact, i am quite comforted in knowing that money cannot buy smartness; and God made money and intelligence independent of each other. it is quite amusing to sit by and watch someone inflate their ego way beyond acceptable limits and assume that because of wealth the world will march in step with them and everyone will simply fall at their feet. honestly that is crap.

i am so glad i was born with a wooden spoon in my mouth. not a silver or gold one. its okay. i can live with little money.

I definitely cannot live knowing or have people thinking  i am dumb.

because at some point, i will have to deceive myself into believing i am smart as it will be one quality i will never possess but wish i did.

I have a thing for anything low back. less revealing than a low-front top. and it retains a little playfulness and sexiness.
